History of the Present Time

This research agenda aims to explore and produce work on the theoretical, methodological, and historiographical aspects of history of the present time. Emphasis is placed on topics that combine reflections on temporalities, the social role of the historian and his or her public engagement, interdisciplinary work, and history.

Culture and Politics in the Present

This research agenda aims to conduct studies on the multifaceted and complex relationships between history and culture in Latin America. Particular emphasis is placed on studies that examine the relationship between culture—in its diverse forms, such as literature, film, music, and artistic expressions in general, as well as their circulation—and political processes from an interdisciplinary perspective.

Authoritarian Regimes and Transitional Justice in Latin America

This research agenda aims to conduct studies on the various authoritarian regimes in Latin America, as well as the process of their transition and its correlation with the development of democracy in countries that have emerged from dictatorial regimes.

Studies on the Present Time

This research agenda aims to encourage and promote studies that adopt an approach focused on the history of the present, taking into account its diverse multidisciplinary, temporal, and spatial dimensions. The idea is that these investigations will review and advance the research conducted by the Present Time Observatory research group.
